Head north to Israel’s Galilee region and you will find the fertile Jezreel Valley, known in the Scripture as the Valley of Armageddon, due to the prophecy that the final battle and second coming of Christ will be at this very location. Ascend Mount Tabor and read the Bible verses as you take in the breathtaking view of Armageddon Valley, before heading on over to the stunning Transfiguration Church, for an extended spiritual experience, surrounded by natural beauty.

Tabgha

Mount of Beatitudes

“Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” This verse, cited in Matthew 5:3, was reportedly spouted from the Mount of Beatitudes, during an inspirational sermon given by Jesus himself. As you stand at the top of this magnificent mount, you can take in the breathtaking views, before embarking on a tour of religiously significant sites: the 8-sided Church of the Beatitudes, Domus Galilaeae, the “house of the Galilee,” a Christian center for studies and meetings and the ruins of a 4th Century Byzantine church.

Cana

While we can’t know for certain, it is believed that the place where Jesus miraculously turned water into wine at a wedding was in the northern village of Kfar Cana of Kfar Hana. Immerse yourself in the legend, by visiting this town, touring its churches and chapels, and even buying a piece of local pottery as a souvenir. Who knows? Maybe doing so will inspire a new miracle in modern times!
